Artist's Statement
"I have no visual plans when I start painting.
I let shapes and layers of paint tell me where to go next. I follow
a trail of aesthetic accidents.
I find I block the breathing of a painting when I push a preconceived
visual idea into the process.
Starting a painting is hard, but knowing when to stop is art.
Images that float are powerful. Plexiglas and Mylar are transparent
materials that free images from their own surfaces and the constraints
of common framing. Paintings to me are floating windows.
I love the abstract form for it's vibrance and subconscious drift."
